Island of Chiloe

It was very very very heavy rain and cold today, however I went to Chiroe.
I must be beautiful place there, I can see spectacular view if the weather is fine.

I'm like a "ame-onna".
It's always rain when I really want to go to some places. It sucks.

There are 14 churches and 2 temples of world heritage sites which were built entirely of wood, using wooden pegs instead of nails in island.
The replacement of thatch with thin tiles made from larch wood, which are nailed to the frame and roof in several distinctive patterns.
Palafitos or wooded house built on stilts over the water.

We went to Ancud and Castro.
We only saw 2 churches, and some sightseeing spots.
And we saw some view of town and some spots from the bus.
I was pretty wet, and getting cold, so didn't want to go out any more.
However, we didn't have enough time to spend in island, do had to go back to Puerto Montt.
We were supposed to go to Dalcahue, but didn't. It was all right I had some fun.

I can say "I have been to island of Chiroe and seen some world heritage sites".

Chile

I crossed the border between Argentina and Chile, from Bariloche to Puerto Montt by bus.
I was 7 hours on the bus.
This way which is one of crossing a borders is go though a mountain.
It has been raining for a week, so there were some snow on the mountain.
First, it was beautiful, because snow covered the leaves which was changed colour.
The bus was going up the road, snow covered all of trees and leaves, so I couldn't see leaves any more.
I was so impressed that why I didn't know when I passed the border. haha...
Actually, were there any sign about border?

Puerto Montt is nothing special.
Why do I come here?

Puerto Montt is the gateway to the shipping lanes to the island of Chiloe which is world heritage site.
And the fishing port of Angelmo is most popular for seafood restaurants and handicraft shops.
That's why I'm here.

I went to Angelmo today. There are many restaurants in the market and many handicraft shops beside the road.
I just walked around there. That's it.

I'm going to the island of Chiroe with tour.
I was supposed to go there by myself, but I changed my mind because it would be heavy rain again.

Bored

I didn't have anything to do in Bariloche.
It was heavy rain and windy, so I couldn't anything.
I was supposed to go hiking, but I couldn't.
I tried to go up mountain to see the view, but I couldn't.
The chairlift of mountain closed, so I tried to find a trail, but I couldn't find it.
So I'd decided to go to another mountain.
I was waiting for the bus to go to there, I guess I missed next bus.
I waited for it for a long time, I just felt.
I couldn't wait any more, so I'd decided to go back to hostel in town.
I crossed the road, at the time, the bus which was going to another mountain just passed me.
That's too bad timing.
However, I didn't want to go to another mountain any more, because I was getting colder during I was standing on the road for waiting the bus.
Finally, I caught the bus for going back to town, didn't know how long I was waiting.

Bariloche calls "Switzerland of South America".
There are many chocolate shops, so Bariloche's chocolate is very famous.
I bought some chocolate at one of shops which hostel's staff recommended me, lovely!!!
And I went to ice cream shops which travelers in hostel recommended me, too.
Ohhhhh, my goodness. wow
I had too much sweets today. ahaha....

It must be beautiful place here if the weather is good.
We can do some activities, such as hiking, trekking, kayaking, and also go to island by ferry.

I was pretty disappointed.

Bariloche

I got in Bariloche this afternoon, was on the bus for 24 hours.

The bus sucked!!!!!!!
There were not good services in the bus.
I had a dinner at a restaurant, so have gotten off the bus for dinner.
BUT, it was meat dish. I said I couldn't have meat because of vegetarian.
They gave me another dish which was 2 pieces of only tomato sauce pizza and "fresh salad".
I'm really careful fresh vegetables and water, and worry about infectious disease.
That's why I've had some vaccinations in Canada.
So I had only 2 pieces of pizza.
I sometimes can choose some foods even if I have a meat, but I couldn't this time.
I want to say many too bad things, but I don't.
Fortunately, there were 15 people on the bus, I had such a little good sleep though.

It light rain today here, and will rain and light snow in a week row.
It's too bad, isn't it?
I can't do anything, wanna go hiking.
That's why I'm here!!!!!!!!

The laundry

I wanted to wash, but there wasn't washing machine in the hostel.
So I asked a guy about it, he said I needed to go to laundry. WHAT??
Anyway, it was 12 pesos (US$4) to include wash and dry, it was not bad though.
However, I have a detergent for washing.
So I don't need it any more in South America, do I?

By the way, I'm going to next place this afternoon.

Cordoba

I moved from Iguazu and was on the bus for 22 hours.
This time, the bus was great!!! It was the best comfortable ever.
That was coach cama which seat was bigger, like a bed.
3 meals, lunch and dinner and breakfast, are included.
And there were only 10 people on the bus.
Seanaly was totally changed between Iguazu and Cordoba.
Cordoba is middle of Argentina, so there are only land.
It's not humid, hot though. It's still kind a summer.

Cordoba is the second biggest city in Argentina.
However it's used to capital of Argentina before Buenos Aires.
There were many heritage sites of colonia style.
It's more than Buenos Aires even though Cordoba is smaller than Buenos Aires.
Cordoba is also world heritage site which town of colonia style.
I think Cordoba and Colonia del Sacramento are different style of colonia.

I found a vegetarian restaurant in downtown.
It was my first time to see a vegetarian restaurant in South America.
I was not supposed to have a lunch, but I guessed there were many very good vegetarian meals in the restaurant.
So I had decided to have these meals, and the staffs was very nice people.
They explained about these meals even I couldn't understand Spanish.
They could not speak English, but a old man spoke just a little English.
He translated it for me and we talked some.
They were sooooooo nice people. I liked them.

Iguazu

It was long trip by bus.
It took 11 hours from Montevideo to Buenos Aires, and I waited for next bus for 5 hours at bus terminal, and I caught it.
That took 18 hours from Buenos Aires to Iguazu.
34 hours !!!!!!!
But it was okey.
Because the buses are very comfortable in South America, so I can be on the bus for a long time.
Some meals and drinks were already included. It's like a full service.
And I can have such a good sleep, because the seat is so nice reclining, like a bed.

Cataratas Iguazu is also world heritage site.
The land is red, there are many deep green trees.
Here is like a jungle, it is sooooooo hot and humid.

I went to Iguazu falls of Argentina side.
There are 2 sides, Argentina and Brasil. We need a visa if we go to Brasil side.
Argentina side is bigger than Brasil side, however Brasil side can see all of Iguazu falls.
There are some trails in national park and we can ride a train and boart.
I walked around Iguazu falls about 4 hours and saw almost all falls of Argentina side.
That was awesome, so wonderful. I can't say anything very much. Just fantastic!!!!!

3 guys who I met at hostel and I went to see border of 3 countries, Argentina and Brasil and Paraguay.
The border is on the river.
We went a end of Argentina and saw other 2 countries from there.
And, we could see sunset, the sun went down Paraguay.
That was pretty beautiful.
